Every day more Americans are going energy independent and reducing their carbon footprint by installing solar panels on their roofs.

Do you want to continue to pay for electricity from power plants that create greenhouse gases or would you rather generate your own clean solar power? Do you want to pay your electric bill or would you rather invest in the value of your home?

Join thousands of Americans across the country who have asked installers like ourselves to hook them up to clean energy from the sun. You won’t be able to see the difference when you plug in your appliances -- electricity will flow from the wall sockets just as before. You may not even be able to see your solar panels from the street.

But, here’s where you’ll see a real difference -- your electric bill. Your bill will drop, in some cases down to a few dollars a month. Many property owners who finance the price of the panels find that their loan payment is less than what they would have paid to the utility company, after considering government rebates and tax breaks. Each month they’re investing in their own energy independence and in the environment.

Solar roof tiles enhance beauty and property value while creating independence from electric rate hikes.

They’re also investing in the value of their property. The National Appraisal Institute estimates that for every $1 saved on an electric bill, a solar panel will increase the value of a building by $20.

Solar panels work by turning sunlight into electricity. The electricity flows into your wall sockets as it’s needed. If it’s not needed, in many areas, utility companies buy your excess electricity. The utility runs your electric meter backwards to give you credit.

Solar panels can cut electric bills for businesses while they help the environment.

Starting in 2009 and for a limited time, the Federal Government will take 30% of the installed cost of a qualifying solar system straight off the taxes that you owe. This is a 30% Tax Credit that means that the Federal Government is paying 30% of the cost of your system.

California, a solar-energy leader, will be paying $3.2 BILLION in rebates to homeowners and business owners who install solar panels and other similar technologies over the next 10 years, starting January 1, 2008. You can feel good about what you're doing for the environment when you install solar panels. With every dollar you save in your utility bill, you’re decreasing our fossil fuel dependence and fossil fuel pollution.

Importantly, you’re reducing your carbon footprint. To give an example, a family in the San Francisco area installed solar panels in 2008. The panels will reduce their carbon emissions by 143,350 tons over the next 30 years. This is the equivalent of not driving 179,190 miles or planting 30 acres of trees. This family also estimates that it’s saving $2,000 a year in utility bills.

We cannot predict or control the price of electricity in coming years UNLESS a house or business is equipped with solar panels. Every kilowatt that the panels generate will be free.

Solar panels generate more electricity on sunny days and less on cloudy days. But partly because of government incentives and partly because solar panels have come down in price as more are being manufactured, now solar energy makes financial sense in every state in the union. Yes, even Alaska is going solar.
